The roads are excellent, Switzerland maintains world-class infrastructure. Highways (Autobahn) are smooth and well-signed. Mountain passes are engineering marvels but narrow with hairpin turns (take your time). Vignette (highway sticker, CHF 40/year) mandatory for all highways. Tunnels everywhere (Gotthard Tunnel 17km, San Bernardino 6.6km). GPS works but download offline maps (tunnels/valleys lose signal).

But: Most Alpine passes closed until early June (Grimsel, Furka, Susten don't open until May/June depending on snow). High-altitude destinations inaccessible. Lower prices than summer (20-30% less). Best for: Budget travelers, valley/lake exploration, avoiding summer crowds, waterfall season, lower elevations (Lucerne, Bern, Rhine Falls).
Summer (June to September)
Temperatures: 20-28°C (warm but rarely extreme in mountains)
Conditions: All passes open, dry, stable weather (afternoon thunderstorms possible in mountains)
Peak season and deservedly so. All Alpine passes open (typically June 1-15 depending on snow clearance). Long days (sunset 9pm June-July), warm lake swimming (Lake Zurich, Thun, Brienz), all mountain lifts operating, hiking trails snow-free to 2,500m+, outdoor dining. July-August are busiest (European vacation season)—book campgrounds 3-4 weeks ahead. August has some afternoon thunderstorms in mountains (dramatic but short). Swiss National Day August 1 = fireworks, celebrations, everything busy. Prices peak June-August. September is excellent—still warm (18-25°C), fewer crowds (kids back in school), autumn colors start late September, lower prices after mid-August.
Best for: Mountain passes, high-altitude hiking, swimming, all destinations accessible, guaranteed access to Jungfraujoch/Matterhorn/passes, long days, outdoor activities.
Fall (October to November)

Conditions: Crisp, autumn colors, mountain passes closing mid-October
October is underrated. Autumn colors (larch trees golden, vineyards red/orange in Lavaux region), comfortable temps (10-15°C), wine harvest season, fewer tourists (60% fewer than August), lower prices (30-40% off summer). But: Mountain passes close mid-October (Grimsel, Furka typically close Oct 15-20, Gotthard Tunnel stays open year-round). High mountains get snow by late October. Shorter days (sunset 6pm late October). November gets cold and gray—many seasonal attractions close, not ideal for RV travel.
Best for: Wine regions (Lavaux, Valais), autumn colors, photography, comfortable hiking in lower elevations, fewer crowds, shoulder season pricing. Avoid if mountain passes are priority.
Winter (December to March)

For some non-EU citizens, a IDP is required, in addition to their home country's drivers licence. Yes, our RVs are pet-friendly. Just make sure to purchase the extra cleaning service during your booking. This service includes professional anti-allergic cleaning after your trip. Please note that only one pet is allowed per motorhome, and it must weigh no more than 30kg. Keep in mind, we are not responsible for any legal fees related to traveling with your pet. The number of people who can sleep in our RVs will depend on the size of the vehicle and the model. In general, our class C motorhome models can sleep up to 4-8 people, whereas our class B motorhomes can sleep up to 2-4. For cars with a rooftop tent, around 2 people can sleep in this vehicles.
