Use the hook-up cable supplied with Comfort Long. Plug into the campsite bollard first, then into the vehicle's external socket, then switch on at the internal panel. Once connected the mains sockets work, the charger tops up the leisure battery and the heating can run on electricity instead of gas. Always unplug at the bollard end first, and never coil a wet cable back into the locker.
Awesome experience, we chose the Comfort Plus Select model for our family of three. Was plenty of room in the van, great sized fridge/freezer, adequate kitchen equipment in the essentials pack. We opted for gas bottle, camping chairs and table and spare bedding kit. All worth it for overall experience. Just check the bedding kit has all items as we had to buy a bed sheet that was missing for a few euro. The van was slightly different to the glossy advertised ones. It was big enough to sleep 5 people so larger in size but purely through places to sleep and a little less room for leisure having to put back and build the bed everyday compared to the one in videos. Minor niggle as would give a bit more room to get dressed or in and out bed without step ladder. We opted for premium insurance and was glad we did after a minor scratch along narrow roads. Overall a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this company, shoutout to the Bologna depot for awesome customer service, thank you IndieCampers!
The van and the trip were amazing and we enjoyed every moment. However, the pick-up was poor and we had to wait 3 hours for the van to be ready as it was not ready at the time of pick-up. It was not clean even though we waited for the guy to clean it. No electricity or water was ready at pick-up, so we had to do this early in our trip. None of our extras were ready and the poor guy had to prepare them all, with lots of reminders. The kitchen kit was not great; we had two pans with lids that didn’t fit. The sofa cushions were the wrong size. Such a shame as we rented in Portugal 2 years ago with a very different experience. The team was very friendly and helpful. I think this was a one-off as the manager was very understanding and apologetic. I would still recommend them and would do it again.
The van was very convenient and in new condition.
