Milan is the capital of Lombardy and is one of the most visited cities in Italy. It is a very lively city, always full of events and demonstrations. Its modern side is recognizable in the tall and sophisticated buildings, as in the case of the famous Bosco Verticale. On the other hand, Milan is a city rich in history and art. The Cathedral, a wonderful example of Italian Gothic architecture, together with the numerous art galleries and museums, make this city one of the most interesting from a cultural point of view. Milan is also famous as the Italian capital of design, thanks to the numerous events in which famous national and international stylists participate.
Milan is located in the western part of Lombardy, in Northern Italy, and is very well organized from the point of view of transport. The largest airport is Malpensa, where most international flights arrive (London-Milan flight duration: 2 hours). The airport is 45 km from the city center but is well connected by buses, trains, and shuttles such as the Malpensa Shuttle Air Pullman. The Autostrada del Sole connects Milan to Reggio Calabria, but there are also many other unpaid state roads that connect the city to the other capitals. The main station is Milano Centrale where it is possible to take regional or high-speed trains (Italo or FrecciaRossa) to go to the main Italian cities by purchasing the ticket at the station or on the official Trenitalia website.
Parking for a motorhome rental in Milan is almost all paid, except for those with white stripes along the streets. The best places to park in the city center are Carducci Parking, very close to the subway, and Sant'Ambrogio Parking. Both are paid (price per hour: €2 - daily price: €24). There are also several car parks outside the city that are well connected by subway, such as the Bisceglie Parking and the Comasina Parking, with daily prices of around €7.50.
