Thanksgiving camping is also a fun way to spend the weekend before Thanksgiving, also known as Friendsgiving. A concept that emerged in 2007 as an informal substitute for the holiday usually spent with family and is, therefore, a mix of the word “friend” and “Thanksgiving”. Besides, cooking a full Thanksgiving camping dinner menu is a fun task in which you can all participate in the dinner party. But to make the day easier for you, we have come up with a delicious menu for your Thanksgiving camping.

Grilled Turkey

Grilled Turkey

As we know, the main event of this night is the turkey and is a must-have in your Thanksgiving camping. For this reason, we recommend cooking the whole turkey on a barbecue. If you have any doubts about this, you can read our article on: Using a camping barbecue

By cooking the turkey on a barbecue, not only will it be finger-licking good, but you can forget about trying to maintain the right cooking temperature. Simply leave it on the grill until you feel the need to turn it.

Grilled Spiced Potatoes

Potatoes are the eternal companions of grilled turkey and, of course, you can also take advantage of the barbecue to make them there. You will simply have to cut the potatoes and spice them to your liking. In this case, we recommend adding onion and garlic powder and other spices such as black pepper. When you have them well seasoned, put a little olive oil on them and wrap them in small aluminum foil packets.

You can use this same method to make a few vegetables. This way if there are any vegetarian or vegan diners, they will have an exquisite option to enjoy the Thanksgiving camping dinner.

Cranberry And Toasted Almond Spinach Salad

We can’t think of a better way to complete this menu than making a delicious salad, you can prepare it as you like and in a thousand ways! An extraordinary and simple option is the cranberry and toasted almond spinach salad.

A cold spinach salad with toasted almonds (which you can make on the barbecue or bring them already toasted from home) is a way to bring a fresh vegetable to the table. Also, all you’ll need is fresh spinach and a cranberry and nut dressing.

Upper-Crust Apple Pie

And the most awaited moment has arrived, the dessert! With this apple pie, we are sure that you will not leave anyone disappointed. We recommend using a dutch oven for this recipe in other for it to be cooked evenly. If you’re using a charcoal grill, we suggest you get them started before you begin. For a 10″ Dutch oven, you’ll need at least 21 coals – but it’s nice to have some extras on hand.

For this recipe, you’ll need apples, which you’ll chop up and mix with sugar and cinnamon. And for the topping, you will need flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, butter, and milk. Ingredients that you will have to mix until you create a dough that you will add on top of the apples. Here you can see the recipe in detail: Dutch oven apple cobbler

Hot Chocolate

To finish off this incredible Thanksgiving camping menu, we recommend a nice cup of hot chocolate. Besides being delicious, it will help you fight the cold! If you already have it prepared, with the camping gas, you only need to heat it on the stove and you will be able to enjoy a spectacular hot chocolate in the middle of nature. Without a doubt, it’s the icing on the cake to an incredible Thanksgiving camping dinner.
