Of the 12 countries I have visited while renting from Indie Camper, the team at the Christchurch NZ location has been by far the most considerate, friendly and helpful. I had the pleasure of working with Marciano and the manager Philip. They were both incredibly professional and even stayed late when I couldn't make my pickup time. I wish I could give them a higher rating than it allows. Of the 12 countries I have visited while renting from Indie Camper, the team at the Christchurch NZ location has been by far the most considerate, friendly and helpful. I wish I could give them a higher rating than it allows. I chose to rent with them instead of their competitor Jucy. I made the right choice and would pick them again in a heartbeat.

Better online communication. The team in Christchurch were awesome to deal with just seemed unfair to expect them to be on hand 24/7. The linen situation wasn’t sufficient for winter. We ended up buying our own duvet and linen. Our camper was perfect for two. Was a great size for having everything we needed while still being small enough to never struggle with parking. This came in handy in places such as Queenstown where parking can be problematic. The van was great on power and fuel efficiency. We spent far less on fuel than we originally thought. Was really warm with the onboard heater. Will definitely use indie camper Christchurch again!

The workers at Indie were helpful upon pick-up and drop-off. Even gave me a lift back to airport for flight.

Give travelers a review of spare tire kit/procedure. Fortunately didn’t need it but realized part way through trip I didn’t know where things were. It may have been mentioned but I missed it. Thanks to Mars in Christchurch for getting us on our way and the Auckland team for checking us back in!

Better quality of the beddings would be an improvement. The whole process was smooth and with very friendly and helpful people. Specially the service from Kash at check out in Auckland was great. Also the team in Christchurch did an amazing job by getting us on the road with some great tips.

Awesome van. Everything was in good condition. Had no problem at all during my entire trip. Would definitely Recommend this company.

We picked up the van in excellent condition, very clean and everything as expected! We spent 4 weeks in an odyssey pop top exploring the South Island. Pick-up was really straight forward and Phil (manager) spent time going through an excellent itinerary for our trip. Mars did an excellent tour through of the vehicle and we didn’t have any issues during our trip. Would highly recommend this type of van for an extended trip, we were able to freedom camp for the majority of our trip. We stayed at a campground every couple of days to fill up on water, empty toilet etc. but found we had enough electric to last us a good couple of days! Can’t wait for another Indie Camper adventure 😀

I made a list of suggestions and gave to the employee. On top of that a direct telephone number from the office would be helpful in case of any problem. Very satisfied indeed. Thanks

Only thing we didn't know was water would empty if temperatures dropped below 3°. However by reading the manual we figured it out We loved our indie camper there was plenty of space and the heating system was amazing! Highly recommend them for your roadtrip.

The service at check in was absolutely brilliant Great van to travel in, loved our trip. The Christchurch crew are amazing to deal with !

The final clean was missed. EG wiping the bench to remove the dust and sprinkles. But otherwise it was great! There was no pick up from the airport. The gas bottle was completely empty so we had to buy one, $60 later it lasted our 12 day trip with over half a bottle left over. Indicamper said they would not refund the cost of this. The best was very uncomfortable, we had to go to Kmart and get a foam mattress topper to make it sleepable. The plugs they give you to stop the grey water from splashing up do not work.... at all. The water tank and the power were only half full, this was pretty inconvenient as we wanted to hit the road running but unfortunately had to make additional stops. I was also not told about the $3000 insurance deposit that needed to be paid on collection. This was a bit of a shock but got refunded 5 days in. The camper all in all was great, the heating was on point and the little kitchen set up was great!

Very helpful team from start to end. The campervan worked great. Had the best time!

We had a great experience hiring this vehicle for our South Island road trip. We had everything we needed and the set up was super convenient - popping up and taking down the tent took about a minute - so it made it easy when we were arriving late at a campsite or leaving early. We only had one night of rain and we were able to stay dry in the tent, and even though it was packed away wet, the bedding inside remained dry. It does get a bit cold up top at night, but we made sure we had layers on so it was fine. The kitchen facilities that were built into the boot were also super easy to use, great for pulling up at a scenic lookout and enjoying lunch or a cup of tea. Would definitely hire this sort of vehicle again for a roadtripping holiday.

In autumn perhaps swap the duvets for sleeping bags or something a little bit warmer! BUT we appreciated the local team providing two duvets instead of 1 to help us keep warm! Katelyn and Phillip were fantastic during check in. So helpful and friendly and gave us some top tips. Gave us all the info we needed in a timely manner as we were eager to get going. At check out Katelyn was an absolute star and even dropped us off at the airport! Would 100% recommend using indie campers Christchurch to anyone!

Love all of the camper functionalities and interior. It would be lovely if they have had an automatic transmission.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our Indie Camper. Easy pickup nd drop off at Christchurch. They very kindly gave us a lift to the airport also. We had it for 11 days travelling around the South Island and it was perfect for our trip. We had no issues with anything.

We had a great exprience with Indie campers, we are more than satisfied with the car and also the team was very helpful. Everything was quick and smooth. The staff in Auckland were very kind! Thank you very much for the experience, we will never forget and come back for sure to New Zealand and we will choose Indie camper for sure!

Everything was excellent! We rented a Campervan for our trip to New Zealand, starting our journey from Christchurch. The staff at the check-in were incredibly helpful and took the time to explain everything about the camper van. One thing I appreciated was that the van had a QR code to scan, which took us to an online manual. My partner and I rented the Odyssey which was perfect in size for us, but it could easily fit four people as it has a top bed and is quite spacious. The camper van was spotlessly clean and looked brand new, with all the necessary appliances to cook and a fridge. The bathroom was a good size, and it even had a shower! We didn't face any problems during our trip, and at the check-out, the staff was just as friendly and inspected the camper van before giving us the green light. We 100% recommend Indie Campers and are already planning to use their services on our next trip!

Easy check in and drop off, team were friendly and efficient. Car was great, no issues and all functions were well explained. Would recommend.

The check in instructions were great, however, a more thorough demo of the vehicle would have been useful. We asked to see the tent up/how to put it back but this wasn’t going to be shown otherwise. Similarly, the sink was missing the plug which we were then given once I pointed it out but we could have been sent off without it which would have been problematic. Smooth experience, vehicle worked well - was perfect for our road trip and easy to manoeuvre round NZ’s mountain passes.

Phil and Katelyn at the Christchurch, NZ location were SO great and helpful!! Phil gave us great recommendations for the South Island and we ended up changing our route and are so glad we did. Katelyn made sure our vehicle was sparkling clean and was so incredibly helpful with making sure we knew everything about our new home on wheels. We had decided we wanted to extend our reservation by a day and they did it for us and made everything so easy so that we just had to enjoy our vacation. I was shocked to find out they were a new location because of how smoothly they were running everything. Thank you, Phil and Katelyn!!

The vehicle met all expectations. When the weather is good this camper is great. When it rains or is very windy it´s not that pleasont to sleep in the tent. But value for money this camper is awesome. The local team in Christchurch are fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. Just a great experience.
