Campervan Rental Essen

Essen is one of the most important cities in the metropolitan region of Rhein-Ruhr. The times of steel, coal, and soot are gone for good, but they have not been forgotten: In the Ruhr Museum Essen you may discover the city’s past and its development from the times of the coal and steel industry until today. Meanwhile, Essen is a modern city offering many diverse cultural sites, events, and happenings. The “Unperfekthaus” might be representative of that: artists show their splendid creativity on 4000 m2 and visitors can view this “Künstlerdorf” (village of artists) up close. In contrast to art, culture, and the many events the Ruhr and its natural surroundings offer idyllic opportunities for RV rental in Essen, relaxing away from the urban hustle and bustle: you may go for a bike ride or a stroll along the river Ruhr, in the Wambach Valley or in the Cologne Forrest.

Getting to Essen

Get to your camper rental in Essen directly via the Autobahn A40, A42, and A52. If you prefer traveling by train: no problem – the main train station in Essen daily hosts more than 100 IC and ICE trains that come from all directions. Unfortunately, scheduled flights or tourist charters do not fly to the airport Essen-Mülheim. However, you may book a flight to the airport of Düsseldorf. It is frequented by numerous carriers such as Lufthansa, Eurowings, TUIfly, Condor, or EasyJet. From there, you may continue traveling to Essen with the regional or long-distance train in less than 20 minutes.

Parking in Essen

In theory, you may park with your RV rental in Essen for up to 14 days, anywhere you can also park a car. However, it might be difficult to find a sufficiently large parking space in the center of the city. The exception is the camper parking space Essen, located nearest to the center of the city in the Baedeker Straße. Here you can park all year long for €9 per day. As an alternative, you will find the Revierpark Nienhausen about a 9 km distance where you can park for €7 per day. Still further outside the city, there is the RV car park at the Landhaus Grum for €15 a day or the camper park at the Freizeitpark Aquarell for €11 per day.
