Campervan and Motorhome Rental in Alicante

Renting a campervan or a motorhome in Alicante means signing up for an incredible adventure across the southeast of Spain

Alicante is a port city with Roman, Arab, and Christian origins and one of the best cities to live in Spain. The name Alicante comes from the Roman Lucentum, which evolved in Arab times to Medina Laqant and later in Valencian to Alacant.

You can reach Alicante by national and international flight via the airport, Aeroport d'Alacant, by train from Barcelona , Madrid , and Valencia , or via bus as Alicante is well-connected.

Set off on your rented campervan or motorhome and wander around Alicante's many wonderful spots and take part in colorful events such as the Fogueres de Sant Joan and Alicante’s Carnival. Make sure to try the famous nougat ice cream! If it’s water sports you seek this is the perfect area for snorkeling and paddle surfing.

National Parks in the Area of Alicante

The Alicante area is connected to many different natural parks, where you will be able to discover the natural beauty and culture of the Iberian Peninsula . Driving east, towards Benidorm, you can visit by campervan and motorhome the Paisatge Protegit de la Serra del Maigmó i Serra del Sit. This rocky mountain's main attractions are its breathtaking hikes, climbing activities, and beautiful landscape views of the coast.

Moving towards the north of Alicante, you can drive up to the Sierra de Mariola. This protected area is famous for its olive oil production and its impressive mountains. Wander through its paths to get a glimpse of the Iberian flora and fauna.

Driving west with your campervan or motorhome you will be able to visit Parque Regional Sierra del Carche and Parque Regional Sierra de la Pila. This is where you will be able to hike up to the top of the Sierras and visit historical sites like Cueva de la Excomunión.

If you drive south you can do bird-watching and walk on the wooden path of the Parc Natural El Fondo d'Elx-Crevillent. Other amazing natural parks in the direction of Murcia are also Parc Natural de Las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja and Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas.

Alicante Coastline, Rivers, and Lakes

Get ready to drive your campervan or motorhome in the direction of the turquoise water, amazing sandy beaches, and hidden coves. Some of our favorite beaches near Alicante are Playa del Bol Nou Beach, in Villajoyosa, it's a serene beach where you will be surrounded by picturesque rocks and a small bar offering refreshments. Playa del Albir is very popular for its walk by the sea and sports activities such as beach volley and swimming. Playa del Campo, in Guardamar del Segura, is also another special location where to bathe and walk by the sea.

For sun worshipers that love to enjoy quieter spots, you can always take your rented campervan to several beautiful lakes, like Embalse de la Pedrera, Tibi Lake, and the Pink Lake Of Torrevieja in Lago Rosa de Torrevieja.

For hiking and picnic lovers, there are also some beautiful river locations. One of the first, north of Alicante, is Les Fonts d’Algar in Callosa d’en Sarrià. Otherwise, you can go enjoy aquatic sports at Río Vinalopó in Elx or direct your motorhome south and relax by the waters at Font del Sapo in Banyeres de Mariola.

Campgrounds Around the Alicante Area

When renting a campervan or motorhome in Alicante, it is essential to know where to spend the night. This way you will be able to stay safe, relax and have all the facilities you might need at your fingertips. Here you can find a list of campgrounds where you will be able to rest at the end of a day full of activities and long drives.

Camping el Raco is a campervan and motorhome campsite located close to the Benidorm area and Levante Beach. This campground has indoor and outdoor swimming pools and its own restaurant. Camper Área Santa Pola is another potential place where to stay with your campervan or motorhome. It is located in Santa Pola, it’s pet-friendly, and it’s surrounded by several parks and a zoo. Camping El Tranquilo allows you to park your campervan or motorhome. It's located in the Pinoso area where you can find restaurants and go hiking in the Sierra de Carche.
