Campervan and RV Rental in Florence

The city of art, history – and fantastic natural attractions with fun outdoor activities! Rent a campervan in Florence and travel around the city and its outskirts, where you can explore Italy's protected areas.

Get in your RV or campervan rental and embark on an adventure to get to know some of the enchanting national parks and natural reserves in Florence.

Florence National Parks

Drive your campervan from Florence to San Marino to find the Regional Natural Park of Sasso Simone and Simoncello, where you can explore its majestic hills and meadows. To the south of Florence, there is the Berignone Nature Reserve, a haven for many wild animals, and the Natural Reserve of Castelvecchio, a hiking destination. Keep heading south, from Florence to Rome , and you will encounter Lake Trasimeno Regional Park, a place for both land and water activities.

Make a southwest detour with your campervan or RV and visit Centro Laghi Park and Montioni Natural Park. Here, you can not only do trailing and trekking, but you can also enjoy didactic activities, guided visits, and workshops on experimental archaeology.

If you drive your campervan or RV up north, in the direction of Milan , stop by the Contrafforte Pilocnico Natural Reserve and Vena del Gesso Romagnola Park, where you can hike, trail, and cycle. To the northwest, there is a National Park called Tuscan-Emilian Apennine. Here, the most adventurous can do hand-gliding and paragliding. If you prefer to stay on the ground, you can bike and ski. It's not uncommon for this park to host food festivals.

Florence Coastline, Lakes, and Rivers

Florence doesn't have a direct coastline, but there are nearby beaches to visit in your campervan when you drive west in the direction of Livorno and Viareggio, such as Quercianella beach, Romito beach, Golfo di Baratti, and Le Rocchette beach.

Take your campervan or RV rental around the Tuscany area and explore the several streams where you can do water activities. If you're a beginner in rafting, get on the Sieve river, very close to Florence, and enjoy a whitewater adventure down to the Mugello area.

Go northwest in the direction of Bagni di Lucca to do some river trekking by the Cocciglia canyon. Keep driving your campervan or RV west of Cocciglia (still close to Bagni di Lucca) to find plenty of water activities that will make adrenaline sprint through your body.

The Lima river flows down the mountains, providing an incredible experience for rafting and kayaking fans. You can also do water trekking, stand-up paddling, and even diving. Your campervan rental adventure is full of fun options when you start your road trip from Florence.

Campgrounds in Florence

Getting a proper rest in a place that provides access to essential services for you and your campervan or RV rental is essential. Here are some campsites you may want to check out as you prepare for your road trip : Camping Alta Valdenza, Camping Trasimeno, Camping Baia Verde, Camping Agriturismo la Piella, and Camping Pian d'Amora. Besides essential services (electricity, drainage, and showers), you will also find terraced bars, pizza restaurants, playgrounds, video games, television, free Wi-Fi, and sports activities.

Gather as much information as you can about the campground you choose before going. Making a reservation is always the safest option, but keep in mind that some campgrounds don't accept reservations. Also, when possible, rent as soon as you can. That will get you a spot for your campervan or RV rental in your preferred option.
