Grilled Turkey

Grilled Turkey

As we know, the main event of this night is the turkey and is a must-have in your Thanksgiving camping. For this reason, we recommend cooking the whole turkey on a barbecue. If you have any doubts about this, you can read our article on: Using a camping barbecue

By cooking the turkey on a barbecue, not only will it be finger-licking good, but you can forget about trying to maintain the right cooking temperature. Simply leave it on the grill until you feel the need to turn it.

Grilled Spiced Potatoes

Potatoes are the eternal companions of grilled turkey and, of course, you can also take advantage of the barbecue to make them there. You will simply have to cut the potatoes and spice them to your liking. In this case, we recommend adding onion and garlic powder and other spices such as black pepper. When you have them well seasoned, put a little olive oil on them and wrap them in small aluminum foil packets.

You can use this same method to make a few vegetables. This way if there are any vegetarian or vegan diners, they will have an exquisite option to enjoy the Thanksgiving camping dinner.

A cold spinach salad with toasted almonds (which you can make on the barbecue or bring them already toasted from home) is a way to bring a fresh vegetable to the table. Also, all you’ll need is fresh spinach and a cranberry and nut dressing.

For a 10″ Dutch oven, you’ll need at least 21 coals – but it’s nice to have some extras on hand.
